I have a creative partnership with art director Jeff Suthons, called .Wild Colonial Boys, and we’ve recently created a new campaign for brewer Daniel Thwaites’ Wainwright ale. Our work includes print and online advertising, a website and point of sale.

Our campaign, like the beer, is inspired by Thwaites’ fellow Lancastrian, the fellwalker and author Alfred Wainwright. Our ads extol the simple pleasures of the countryside as a refreshing antidote to modern life.

The campaign uses Wainwright’s style of illustration and type, as found in his famous walking guides and on the beer’s label and font clip, and the ads are underpinned by the line “A breath of fresh ale”. The ads are running now in trade publications and will be targeting consumers in the spring of 2013.
