Email is an essential medium for Monese (a digital alternative to banks) and other app-based services. I helped Monese simplify its onboarding messaging, by editing and consolidating information so that new customers wouldn’t be inundated with emails in their first weeks.
At the time, Monese was repositioning itself as a service that helps us to “be free”, so that we can travel, or live, work or study, wherever we want.
I helped Monese develop their new “be free” tone of voice across all their copy. This email is one of the first communications I wrote with this tone. It was sent to people who had downloaded Monese’s app but weren’t using the services. I needed to nudge them to take advantage of Monese’s new free allowances.
